My Training Methods
I use science-based, positive methods that shape the behaviors you want to see...and that make your life easier.
More than just training, a lifestyle
"Fear is the enemy of learning. It's the negator of joy, the preventer of play, the inhibitor of trust and love. Fear just gets in the way, slows things down, and causes unnecessary pain." - Karen Pryor, Reaching the Animal Mind
Build Confidence
Building confidence is key to helping our dogs succed in the things we want them to do. While it's important for them, it's vital for you too! With a confident dog, they make your life easier by knowing what to do in new, unfamiliar situations because they have the skills to navigate it, with or without your help.
Build the Bond
Working through challenging behaviors, doing routine training, or even structured play helps create a lasting bond with your dog that surpasses your wildest dreams. The trust you foster through training and play can create a human-dog bond that lets you both accomplish your goals.
Create Memories
When you get to let go of fear and worry about your dog's behavior and ability to navigate new or strange situations, you can breathe easy and move forward with your dog. New memories can be made and you and your dog can live a beautiful life.
Training for Lifestyle
If your dog loves going on adventures but doesn't have the skills needed to navigate those adventures, I can help. If your dog simply need some help with their confidence in day to day moments, I can help with that too. I tailor training to suit the dog and you, to make life easier.
Positive, Fear Free
All training is done with positive, science-backed methods that foster true learning. I ditch fear and intimidation and use methods that capture and shape behavior you want to see and in the process help build trust for you and your dog.
I also give you the tools you need to succeed after our sessions are done - with the option to always come back with any questions or new situations.
